As questions arise about the long-term safety of the current generation of polymer based drug-eluting stents, renewed interest in ESI’s non-polymer technology led to additional ESI development in this area.
ESI plans to continue work with the Kansas University Higuchi Biosciences Center, where we have previously conducted encouraging initial testing of the eluting properties of ESI porous layers, on which we hold a broad, granted patent.
ESI will attempt to license our patented, porous electroformed drug-eluting layer during 2008.
